Rain

That's why you buy land on a mountain not on a flood plain! Mountain land you have mudslides that smash into your house and demolish it haha. Or a rock that comes tumbling down and goes through your house, but at least you don't have to learn to swim!

Been getting a metric shit ton of rain in Fayetteville every night, couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t recording any in the rain gauge.

Wife and I were eating dinner tonight and I mentioned this, her reply, “oh I have been pouring it out every morning when I walk by it.”

Now one of my stupider ideas I am working on a new camping arrangement and need to make sure it works so I’m camping out tonight in my backyard. In a hammock with a tarp over it watching lightning in the distance. Can’t go inside and give her the satisfaction that she was right about it being a dumb idea.

Another 3.25" in my rain gauge this morning over the past 24 hrs. Total rainfall is now 13.25" in less than two weeks (Monday, July 23rd).

Sounds like you all are trying to emulate Louisiana. We got about 6” the other night. They don’t do half ass rain down here. It’s all or nothing. Hope y’all hold out alright.

Rained here off and on all night, hard with thunder to medium steady.

I did get 6 yards mowed yesterday and my 2 huge ones done Wednesday but its a mess I tellz ya.

Got more to do for the week but supposed to rain about all day today....

12.5" in 2 weeks here... most of that since Sunday
And ditto @Tacoma747 's statement! We're in a bowl about 9/10 of the way UP the ridge...
we may not be able to get out of the road, but if the house floods, most of NC will have been under water for days! (fawk that noise)

Emptied 2" out of one rain guage (I think from the past two days) this morning and then it's been pouring since 9:30 or 10.

I am so ready to live in a house without a basement. Which that will have to wait a few more years until I build one, but I will hopefully be in a house soon that at least doesn't have a sump pump...

Just make sure that bowl you are in has a drain at the bottom! Haha. Our house will be at about 1200ft or so, would like to go higher but the higher I go the more expensive things get, so we will stay where it's at. Would be one heck of a flood, but the last flood of that magnitude was a few thousand years ago, and supposedly we never have to worry about one that bad again!

Woke up to this about 2 weeks ago..... Pretty sure its rained every day since.
