Picked up a new daily driver.....with gas and my commute distance going through the roof, made sense to snap up a diesel wagon that is old enough to legally rent a car.

My cousin had one of those and regularly averaged 50mpg. My 04 Passat was good for 40mpg + on average. My 2014 Passat struggled to stay above 35mpg. Thanks goodness were winning the war on fossil fuels

I had a 98 Jetta TDI years ago, it got 43 mpg if I drove it like I stole it and 55mpg if I followed the speed limit on long drives.
The new ones may get less mpg, but they also have double the hp. In this day and age, I don't think Vw could sell a 90hp, 3500lb wagon!

It is slow, it may get some go fast parts to replace parts as they wear out. Even throwing $3-$4k at nozzles, turbo, a clutch and a tune only gets it to 2010 stock TDI power levels. No DEF and no DPF is nice though.

This is horrendous. I'm pretty sure I've got a broken bone fragment trapped under the nail. Waiting on the day it falls off. Still kinda crunchy inside. I told everyone at work that when it does detach, I'm gonna walk into the office, throw up all over the floor and go home for the day.

Nope, Guilford county is where I bought it from. Although the PO hasn't owned it for long so not sure where it came from before then.
