Random pic thread.

I have a huge respect for how much .001” can impact the world. Our turbine generators weigh well over a million pounds end to end, rotate at 1800 rpm, and if you do the math, the ends of the blades on the low pressure turbines are just below the speed of sound. I monitor vibration in the journal bearings, typically we see anywhere from 1 to 4 mils. We get alarms at 6 mils (.006”).
To put that in perspective, a sheet of paper is about 4 mils thick. To think we can balance something that precise that heavy that sees that amount of velocity and power (1200MW electric) still amazes me.

It only took 2 rubber o rings to be slightly stiffer due to cold to destroy the Challenger.

Good ending to a long day at ball fields. Supper is hot dogs over an open flame with ketchup & mustard & Busch Light. No more, no less.

Made some good rebuilding progress today.

I've poured concrete through a basement window, to wooden troughs built to cover the area. But the kiddy slide is priceless!
My carport was poured via a bobcat bucket. Concrete truck blew a hydro line on the side to side of the chute and was spraying everywhere when he tried to move it. It wasn't the easiest but it was better than a cold joint

With fuel on the rise again, I may need to make this upgrade to the cummings......even if it doesn't take it from its normal 25 mpg up to 35, maybe I'll gain a couple hundred ft.lbs of tork....... It's NAPA so not like it's junk or anything. The only question is whether I should also put on the inner duals........ I hate making decisions like this, i'll probably be awake all night.

Saw this at the Mountain Glory Festival yesterday. 1 of 400ish 4 door Acadian wagons built. Can’t be too many of these around. First one I’ve ever seen.

That is an interesting find! Canadian model of the Chevy II... Inteeresting it made it's way to the U.S.

Where does time go? This was in the October 29, 1972 Atlanta Journal. Pumpkin Center of the South. On hwy 74 just before Lake Lure. My mind always wanders here this time of year.
