I always thought those plugs were keyed so they could only go one way.... Eh guess not

They are keyed, and color coded. They only fit in same color and only fit one way.

It's up to you to decide if charging the lift is of more benefit than charging the battery for the lift.
The end result is very different in either situation.

One way, can get very expensive.
