Random pic thread.

Each one is designed to go on a certain gvwr chassis. # and size of outriggers is a critical factor as well. Every now and then some crazy customer comes along and puts one on a larger chassis than it was originally intended for, but usually because they don’t want to use outriggers and the larger chassis is needed for stability. They also fill up the blank spaces between the chassis rails with ballast in the form of steel plate. I always thought it was crazy to weld in 2000 lbs of steel lol. Most of the time they’d do it in the very back to also take some weight off of the front axle - seesaw-style.
This is the kind of thing that makes engineers bald.

Had a little questionable something took off yesterday.

What do I get for coming to my parents’ place at the beach with no tools?

A new multimeter, 1-1/2” impact socket, and a new impact wrench because the lower heating element went out and was tripping the breaker. It was rusted in so bad I couldn’t get it to break free with the little cheap tool they sell you in the plumbing dept. In fact I bent the tool.

Ironic that I just got a Milwaukee impact wrench for father’s day, but didn’t think I needed to carry it with me.

About 20 years ago or so I had minor surgery to remove a cyst from my back. It was about the size of a baseball with tentacles hanging from it. They numbed me up and I was awake for the operation. When they got it out I asked if I could see it. The doc told the nurse to let me see it. Well when she showed it to me, they had a label on the jar and I couldn’t get a good view. I asked her to rotate the jar so I could get a better view. The nurse said, “Oh, you’re sick!” And then she turned the jar so I could see it.

Fishing is exhausting lol.

Then took the long way back through Wilmington and walked around and got ice cream. Cool to see the ol battleship from a different perspective.

And topped it off with pizza on the roof and a nice Sunset sunset this evening.
