Random pic thread.

Finally had a day off and me and the wife went up riding old 105. Couldn't see much due to the fog. There were lots of dual sports and people walking.

Nice! Looks like the leaves are looking good. I think I'm gonna do a Linville Gorge backpacking loop in the next week or two.

The only thing I can figure is he backed up and run into it from the rear bumper all the way to the cab. Or turned to short ran up on the median and boom. Either way there was about 20 cabelas employees outside starring at it. For referenceView attachment 257239

Looks like he cut the corner and the back tire pushed the rock into the parking lot.............wonder if he was texting?

We went to Stone Mountain yesterday, and experienced the same fog. I didn't realize that area got hit by the bad storms a couple of weeks ago. The stairs that go up the rock face and down alongside the waterfall on the SML trail were closed due to damage. Trees were down everywhere. The wooden steps had been destroyed in spots.

Stores get Tired of folks cutting corners, tearing up the landscape & sprinklers! But Dumb Asses Still run over the rocks!
I helped a truck driver get one of those out from between his Trailer tandem. Came from Wal-Mart in Mocksville. Knocks on my door early Sunday morning wanting a sledge hammer. I thought "what the" so I had to help. Fool drug it up Hwy 64 for like a ten to fifteen minute ride at highway speed. Then pulls of the shoulder on a blind hill just below the peak and stuck it up. Drug him on the highway. Turned him into Calahan road. Borrowed the biggest bottle Jack I could find and block it so the pavement could handle it. Wrapped a rope around it from a random dude who worked fro a tree service. Used his four wheel drive to drag it out. I struggled to get it in my Tractor bucket.....it's now at my house. We tell people it was delivered from the Wallsmart.

This is what they brought out to do some framing off the roof. I had 1.75 inch clearance driving it up the parking deck. I put the big guy in it since i had to leave early. He wasnt happy. For reference hes about 6'4 or so.

That is sweet . What's it cost. Who do you work for? Never seen a lift like that.

The stairs have been out for a while due to a fire if it’s the ones I’m thinking of.

Used a lift like that...but not the fancy crawler, just a tow-behind. Got stuck one day....helper left on a parts run, I guess I went a little too far out, taking the weight off one outrigger a little too much....and the outrigger safety switch tripped...shutting the machine down. I was stuck until helper got back. Switches got a shim after that to hold them open.

I think this one was 2200 a week. It was the only thing we could get up the parking deck. Size and weight wise. The gc (beverly grant) rented it because the company im subbing for didnt have an account set up with united. We usually go thru cat or h&e. I figured out how to operate it and drove it up, then showed Tom how to operate it. I guess i'll get my turn in it the next two days. I think its 32ft to the roof and im building a 13ft tall wall above that.

I only used the tow behind type once. My daughter rented one so i could bring down several trees and big limbs over their house. Kind of a throw back to my tree work days when i felt alot younger than i do these days. lol. I would love to be on an s60 or so for this job but just no possible access.

Better than a 120' boom looks more fun too. You work for drywall company?

Yes basically. Im actually my own company and subcontract the metal framing from the drywall company. I always say if you see me hanging drywall things have gotten bad but i can do it all... layouts, frame , hang, finish, insulate, acoustic ceilings. When i put on my tools instead of supervising, im pretty damn good at it.
