They are not accidents, unless someone has a medical problem and crashes...even then it's a medical episode.

Some selfish, narrow minded mouth breather has to make a decision to do something besides pay attention behind the wheel and cause a wreck.

And police/fire have to get joy out of closing roads, otherwise there is no need to close the lane that is 2 lanes away from a wreck.

At lunchtime I was heading to Mooresville, and a couple of cars had tried to go swimming in the lake at the Davidson exit (ended up shutting down 77 South until at least 5PM I think). I came up on that just after it happened (going north), and the second car in front of me plowed into the back of the third car in front of me, who apparently was rubbernecking and had basically stopped in the left lane with full speed traffic behind it. Boom. I saw a spare tire rolling down the road right before I realized it was time to lock 'em up.

Left Mooresville at 2:30, realized South was still completely blocked, finally jumped back off to take 115 as an alternate. Got down to Mt Mourne, and right then a tractor-trailer made a bad right turn and straddled the ditch, shut down 115 for a while.

Um no we don't. If it ends up being a serious injury or fatality wreck and I need to reconstruct it on paper then I have to take photos and measurements of the roadway, vehicles positions, skid mark, and any important debris. I cant do that with vehicles wizzing by me in a nearby lane. Opening the roadway as soon as possible is what I strive for.

I feel much safer walking into a burning house than standing in the road. As you can see you dumb fucks couldn't manage to drive in 4 lanes now you want me to trust you to safely merge into 2?

When the police turn, for example, three lanes into one, do you see traffic 'wizzing' by? No. It comes to a 5 mph crawl. On both sides of the road due to rubber necking.

Yes, some wrecks are super serious and need investigation, but everyone here has seen egregious lane closures.

But yes, people suck at driving.

I have been to Norfolk Va 6 times since the 2nd week of Nov.Those people up there are TERRIBLE about that.Ive got a ton truck AND a 18 foot trailer,that distance I'm tryin to maintain is not for you to get in.If your not riding the bumper of the guy in front of you they're tryin to get in.Its not that bad til you get past Richmond then it's a white knuckle ride the rest of the way.Came back thru WS and Gboro last night.No where near as bad.
