Random pic thread.

Looks like someone took an old crane hook and machined the shank to a receiver mount. That has got to be heavy to put that in there.

And yet, virtually no squat. Flat billers put one case of Keystone Light in the bed of their truck and the bumper scrapes.....

.250" stainless steel. This is the first I've spent the whole day working on the waterjet. These are parts that go with a"world map" project we're building. Now, the puzzle is coming together.

Schweet. I've never played with a waterjet, but I used to program the CNC plasma table at my last job....I miss that job. Plus, as long as I didn't go nuts, I could make my own parts. That thing was fawking handy...

Same here. In one company with 16 or so employees, there's five people that drive Jeeps including the owner. When after 5 rolls around, or on weekends, it's not just acceptable for us to use our resources to build our own parts, it's actually encouraged. :smokin:
I'm gradually moving over to waterjet when needed. Problem is, I'm needed everywhere. Tis the downside of being good at everything.
Practice is practice. Building Jeep parts is practice. Practice makes perfect. Perfect makes a shit ton of money.
I was almost done building my Jeep when I started here, so I've got some serious catching up to do!

Customer requested wheel bearing replace. Ok. Sure. Soo still popping crunching.. I think this still had a few thousand miles left before I removed it.

So he got his new bearing anyway. And now has a spare. I almost pulled the shaft out the first time but said nah, I'll let him learn to let me diagnose it before replacing parts at his request. I usually have people sign a paper if they want me to change parts without diag so if it doesn't fix the problem they really can't say anything because they signed it saying it may not fix it because it might not be the problem..
