It ain’t a Jeep but it’s still slow! Only a few more tasks and it’ll be sea worthy.

I had a Flying Scot from about '88 to '02. Had to sell it to raise cash when we built our last house.

I want another sailboat pretty bad....certainly cheaper than playing with Jeeps.

Did you sails yours solo? I am hesitant to sail it single handed in the event I can’t find someone to come out with me.

A buddy of mine hit a gorgeous eight point this morning (still in the velvet) with the front brush guard on his HMMWV. Snapped its neck clean but did not hit the body. Knocked both antlers off at the base. We shot our live fire exercise and hauled ass back to gut and quarter it out. He is a city kid so had no clue and almost puked his guts out lol. Luckily everything looked to be in good shape so fresh venison on the table tonight! I gave him a TL and he said here take the rest.

You need this.

I used to sail on my dad's Flying Scot when I was a kid. His boat is serial # 962. He bought it in late 70's. He still has it but it's just rotten away in the driveway.

Nice. This is an 1980 model. I think the serial was like 1700 or something. I’ll have to check. I have some serious work to do on it in a year or two. It’s got some good signs of impact on the bow and a few spots on the aft deck. Trying to preserve this thing.

Almost every time was solo. Could do everything ok, except the spinnaker.

Cool. I have solo’d this a few times but in mild wind. It’s exciting to sail in heavy wind with a crew of 3! :D

My dad has a.... 78?.... Scot. Loves it. Probably had it 25+ years now.

Initially he did it as a 2-man deal but now is pretty comfy on his own.
I got a 1963 sunfish in the garage I wish I used more..
Ha, they also have an old Sunfish too. Know what's entertaining? two thirty-something year old newbie sailors deciding it would be a fun learning experience to sail it as a team.
That is clearly not a 2-man boat lol.

@RatLabGuy I can only imagine what that was like lol. The best we ever managed was 2 14 year olds and a dog

My friend I grew up with also has a sailfish, which is just a slightly smaller sunfish with no cockpit. You flip it, alot.

One in the "cockpit", one on the bow. Which works ok until the window direction changes and you need to move the boom quickly. It turns out that too much scrambling 350 lbs of mass on the deck leads to a sail in the water. :D

I can't imagine anything smaller than a sunfish that isn't basically a surfboard with a sail lol
