I liked how those tires would fling fist sized clods of mud when I had them on my Toyota. 33 15.5 15s stuck out way past the fenders. I delighted in covering my friends rigs w mud when they called me to pull them out of a hole they were stuck in. I would yank them out and then drag them around needlessly while slinging mud everywhere just because they talked shit about my Toyota when I bought it. I would also often do a lap or 2 around them before pulling them out while asking " how'd you get stuck?"
Yup been there too.

97 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.2 power steering bracket.. original aluminum one was broken into three pieces, belt squalling and misaligned.... Well a acquaintance had a parts Jeep but he didn't get back to me about me getting it.. so, I super glued the broken one back for a template and measurements.. then proceeded to cut, drill, and weld. Every hole aligned perfectly, Thanks to transfer punches. I think it turned out pretty good considering the only not hand held tool was a drill press. Installed, pulleys align & no more belt squall.

Edit: yes I removed that burr on the spacer side, it was barely hanging in there.

This from @Blaze derailed FS thread:

Has anyone thought of the possibility of making one of these cars a tow rig? I have seen it done before out west.

Novel concept today, but folks didn’t always ‘need’ a 4x4 truck to tow a 4x6 yard trailer.

I JUST recovered a bunch of old pictures from a corrupt external hard drive, and this one is relevant.

That's my dad leaning on the car and my uncle standing on the car. Based on how old my dad looks I would guess this is sometime in the mid '60s?

My grandfather used to pull a 22 foot sea ray with his Olds 98. Seemed ok to me as I stood up in the front seat next to him. Lol

Our 2500 '76 suburban with a 454ci did much better though. 6-8 mpg

No they worked off the P/S pump. Under the right conditions you can have the belt start slipping in the rain and lose both power steering an wipers. One of the ones my husband drove had a tri pack with 4:11 posi. Would not get over 5 mpg,an depending on speed you can get gpm.
