What did he bite? Ive never been able to hook one

I've had them bite off topwater lures in the dark before (they feed mostly at night, we see them all the time), and I've seen people occasionally accidentally catch them on Norman. They usually stick to fairly small prey because they can't open their mouth very much.

They're popular to catch on a fly rod in some parts of the country, with yarn flies. No hook needed, the yarn tangles in their teeth.

Yeah Ive caught my share when Striper fishing in the river on creek chubbs or long a bombers.

One of them bastids with 2 or 3 trebles stuck in their jaw aint much fun to release...After you hit em in the head with the paddle they usually quit fighting though...

When I was a kid used to fish with this old drunk dude...he was an asshole but funny as hell....hlooking back this is cruel but to a kid it was funny. When hed catch em he would break their top bill with a pair of channel locks to get his plug back and then put them in the water with that top bill standing straight up at 90 degrees...looked like a submarine periscope. They couldnt dive with the broke bill.

Like I said looking back I kinda feel shitty about that. But it was funny to a 10 year old

I caught one I could see with a top water bait this spring. He didn't seem interested but I kept throwing it right in front of him and he finally got pissed enough to bite it. I underestimated how aggravating it would be to get my lure back though. I won't be trying to catch another one.

Fun! My favorite! (S10 are way easier than the full size.. whole dash comes in one piece on s10, had to almost fully gut this one (but did take out some stuff that could have stayed))

Probably been 10 years back, when I walked in a garage to see a buddy. There was a Chrysler mini van, with the Whole dash pulled out. I asked WTH? Answer, it's the only way to access the AC. Seeing my First, I thought that was Terrible!

You are probably correct. Don’t have them up here in the mountains but I’ve caught a few on the Cape Fear.

I saw one in the tailrace of the Lake Jordan dam decades ago. A friend was sitting on the wall tossing a throw net to catch shad schooling in the tailrace. This was back when there were tons of hybrid strippers in the lake and the river, tons of fun to catch in the lake, even more in the current of the river below the dam.The current and weight of the lbs. of shad about pulled him into the tailrace so he asked me to climb up and hold on to him and help him pull the net in the next time he threw it.While we waited for the school to surface and condense we saw a huge image, about the size of a telephone pole slowly rise to the surface among the swimming shad, I thought it was a log. Then it shook violently and stunned hundreds of the shad that were swept away in the flow while that huge gar spun around and went after the injured shad. We decided to stop fishing w the net from the top of the wall, if that gar got tangled in the net somebody was prolly gonna drown in the river and the current. That fish looked like it was 6' or 8'long and thick as a telephone pole.

Our 06 RSX hit 100,000 today. Guess I need to brag on that other thread about a high mileage Honda motor...

Holy chit. How do you drive so little?
I'm jealous. My 2015 should hit 200k by years end.
