Alright, this is new to me. What would you use 1/10 & 1/100 of an inch for?

Accuracy and simplicity. If you're trying to put 11 things over 7ft, its a hell of a lot easier to go every 0.7ft instead of 8-3/8" heavy, then 16-13/16" light, then 25-3/16" heavy, etc.

if only there was a unit of measure that was more simplified.... maybe something with a 10's base.....
That mystery unit of measure is even the official standard of our government

Maybe thats why people refuse to adopt it

No. Look closely. At 12 inches, the one on top is 1 again. Then 1.1 etc.
There's 30.48 cm in 12 inches.

Yep. He was actually a really nice guy. I think he mainly wanted to trade it. Was too solid and 2 miles from house so had to go.
