Guess I missed it, did you give up on the Cummins? Nice truck
Nah, haven't given up on it, but went ahead and bought it's replacement. Once it's back together I'll be selling it. When I bought it, it was 3 years old, but now its 9 years old with 200k miles. I wanted to get something newer that was still under warranty (but had enough power that I didn't feel compelled to tune it) so that if there was a major mechanical failure I can just take it to the dealer and say fix the POS. The Cummins has illustrated to me that I just don't have the time or will to work on vehicles in a significant capacity anymore. Plus I miss when it was fun to work on stuff, and these big projects hanging over me wear me down and take the fun out of everything else. I enjoy doing the mods to the XJ, but hate slogging away on the blown up Cummins. With that said, I did get the motor back in the frame this past weekend, so some progress. Still a million things to reconnect, then get the body back on, do a dozen gallons of various fluids, and try to crank it. I'm sure that will come with plenty of hiccups too. But a little at a time.

19’ f450 heater core. Pulled in at 11:25 and was pulling out the gate and done at 2:20. Not a bad job honestly. But pretty sure nothing was even wrong with the core. But the customer diagnosed and bought the parts. View attachment 453434

Nice work. I probably couldn't have finished searching for all the tools I needed to do the job by 2:20.

You can't hide money

Is that for the new one I assume? I went by that plant a few weeks ago. Man it's huge. I also saw where they were already looking for help from SC even though they put the headquarters in Charlotte.....
Yea, I did the little preorder thing for the suv with the diesel range extender.

We bid on that job at my old company. The CM that VAG (or Scout, or whomever) hired to manage the construction of that campus did some really weird scope splits between the buildings and even labor and material splits.

They built a Culver’s at the front of our business park, right across from my office, 150 steps from door to door. It opened last week. This is dangerous. I’m probably gonna need to quit to stay under 300 pounds.
Culvers is the shizz.

Blunt wraps and vape refills coming soon. Funny a man with such morals allowing the place to turn to shit. Funny what the dollar will do. Place gets worse every time I go. View attachment 453465
Did ownership change? Didn't the owner of the outpost own the camp ground we were banned from?

Ah the good old Pot o Golds. I confiscated many of those back in my day. I’m assuming they are still illegal unless NC changed the law.

Local store here lost his ABC license over the poker machines -- but he said those 4 machines were making way more than the beer sales ever did.

Huge day in the shop. Spent nearly 4 hours cutting the old 3 link mounts off the front 60. WOD will be trussing it for their 4 link.
Many grinder boogers went down the shower drain.

I've had a custom.cam for my 306 for a long ass time. Didn't want to do it in frame, so now's the time. Old one was a Comp 510 lift, 218 duration on a 114 lobe separation. Definitely left a ton of performance on the table with the compression and air flow I have. New one is much more performance oriented.

6 hours in the shop, grinder boogers, plasma cutting and a small gear oil fire
Solid day

No 14 bolt front?

I used to have an....associate....that owned a few of these and had them disbursed in random gas station back rooms.

Said he averaged $4k/week/machine. And that was after a 50/50 split with the business owner.

Those things have no doubt ruined some lives. Had a family member blow everything on them. Had another friend who would get paid on Friday, draw his entire check out immediately, lose it all, hit the ATM at some point throughout the weekend and overdraft what his check was to give to his wife so she wouldn’t know. This was 20 years ago before everyone banked digital. He hasn’t truly recovered to this day. No credit and lives in his mother in law’s house. He’s in his mid 50’s too.

100%.
My FIL was a long haul trucker who was so addicted to them his wife took the debit card away. He made a weekly round trip run from Charlotte to Tampa FL area. On a couple of occasions the wiife and I had to drive down to Bwman or Ridgeland and bring him cash because he'd made it that far and blown his whole gas fund in poker machines.
