"just don't work, you'll get paid anyway"

---pinging DOGE
Its literally because of DOGE. They're the ones that took away telework. Being paid Admin Leave while your worksite is closed is a law and they are too stupid to understand that their actions are costing way more money than saving.

But DOGE isn't about efficiency so they don't care anyway.

Trust me - 100% of us would rather have the option to telework and save everybody money.

My wife has really went down the rabbit hole on this whole healthy eating deal and finally seeing how much we are being poisoned. Making homemade bread, biscuits, cookies, chocolate milk, pies, the whole shooting match. She's trashed most everything in the kitchen that isn't cast iron or stainless, and is working quickly on switching to all wooden utensils. Came home to a map of the garden she wants and her asking how hard it is to drive the tractor.... I'm all for it! And our grocery bill has actually went down! But now we need more chickens, more pigs, and she wants a dang highland cow lol. But best of all, she's happy and enjoying cooking and learning. Idk exactly what flipped the switch, but its been nearly a 180° turn from fast food and freezer meals.

I wish dudes that pissed in toilet seats would get shocked while doing so. Lazy m effers. I mean, who TF likes to sit on a pissed on toilet seat. It seemed everyone would want to keep a bathroom clean. But, nooooooo!
I wish that dudes who sit down to pee would quit complaining about the rest of us. :flipoff2:

But seriously, WTF is wrong with people. You can use your foot to flip the seat up, don't even have to touch it.

Why can’t we as a country put our utilities underground. Spent a bit in Germany and their power and such are underground. Occasional termination or junctions are above ground but that’s it. How much do we waste on poles. How many accidents could be avoided if there were no poles above ground to crash into. Wind, ice, snow. If it’s subterranean it would be no issue. Hurricanes, tornados and the like can’t topple critical power infrastructure if they can’t blow them down??

Works well in a lot of places, but I'd think rocky areas or mountains would be a problem.

Because look at the denisty of cities and teh distance between homes and cities and places that need power... size of the whole country is what.... Texas?
And who tf is willing to pay to cost to go back and do that properly now? Would you prefer to pay higher taxes or just really high utility bill?

Yup. Underground wire is way more expensive than overhead. Nevermind the cost to install. Also, most utilities are publicly owned and no one wants to forego dividends for X yrs to cover that cost. Id be curious to see what the 30yr cost of ownership would be though for the utility for the upfront cost of undergrounding X area vs repair cost.

But they’re underground utilities are not direct bury, they have a subterranean tube system that carries all their stuff. I should think, especially in areas prone to natural disaster, it would pay itself back fairly quickly. Of course I fully understand that it is not feasible more than likely due to all of the high-quality American red tape it would require to accommodate such a situation.

Hence why its popular in places where the state foots the cost. Long-term payback is ok, unlike private business that needs revenue immediately.

I'm LOLing in your face if your think German red tape is somehow less thick than American and suggest you spend some time trying to get something like this permitted there.

I have some German equipment that occasionally requires an OEM technician to come work on. What they can and can't do and when by German law, even on American soil is bewildering. I'm pretty sure they will spontaneously combust if they work past 4pm local time or on the weekend.
