Well… that’s it. 17 years, 5 months, and 26 days. This week I hung up this hard hat for the last time. Today I clocked in one last time, had breakfast, drank some coffee, and said my last goodbyes before turning in my pass. Now I’m home getting ready to stuff my face and getting paid 12hrs of holiday OT to do so.
I threw the towel in this year after almost 20 years. Haven’t looked back yet. Best of wishesView attachment 448996

get to know the night watchman first. Learn his schedule or buy him some scotch. If you need “something” to go away, look at the obituary’s. Find the pre dig hole that night and add a few extra feet. Drop in said thing and fill back into the previous 6’ depth. Nobody asks questions to an existing hole.
unhook those sway bars!
Going through something similar in the little town of Stanley. Our town manager makes something close to $200k per year and it’s a part time job in one of the smallest towns in the county (that actually has a town to manage anyway) and they wrote the contract in such a way that if he gets let go he gets paid a 3 year severance.how do I get this job? but for real.
"The town of Cary on Monday elevated the deputy town manager to interim town manager after weeks of questions about spending under then-manager Sean Stegall.
Stegall resigned on Sunday, agreeing to a severance package that will pay him $194,832, or the equivalent of six months of his salary."
