jeff b on this forum will have some dana 44 rear axles up for grabs shortly....near stock width for your xj and need gears. check him out!

Usually 4.10's.

I'd say stock.... 4.10's and 31's is doable but not worth the hassle of upgrading just for 31's. I think it even hurt your MPG...

(assuming you have a 4.0 Auto)
