Filed my fed and state taxes same day. 1-31-14 and got my fed on 2-10-14 and state on 2-11-14
not as fast as last year, but im happy.

What happened to [law?] having your forms by Jan 31 ? That's the day I got my former employer W2s. Got my mortgage Feb.3. I've had to call Social Security & my annuity, to get my info!
Just got mine filed Wednesday.

I work for a brokerage firm. The basics have to be out by January 31st but say you have a mutual fund that invests in several companies, those companies report by January 31st then the mutual fund company reports your earnings to you. There can be several people it filters through so there are delays.

For once we hit it dead nuts on. We didn't get a refund but didn't have to pay either.

I have tried adjusting my taxes for years to be closer to zero. I can never seem to adjust them right and of course this year there were new claims forms that changed everything again. : rolleyes:

Thanks to DisneyNut & WranglerYJ, for the answers. I E-Filed Feb. 3dr, had Fed refund on the 11th., & State on the 13th.!

We hit the little lady's pretty squarely, she got an $87 return combined between fed/state. I'm gonna owe a pretty decent chunk, didn't really focus on the math too hard when I changed jobs mid year (and there's a 40k bump up annually). I dropped 3k in a cd just for it though.
