Recessed Lighting

We have a ton of recessed lights in our house. Ceilings are 10ft and 9ft. We love them.

Yeah, we have 8ft ceilings. We just need more light in our house. The sun spends most of the day on the side of our house, so we don't get a TON of natural light during the day and I just like a well lit home. Even If we had a ceiling fan with a nice light on it, I'd be good with that.

I wouldn't get my hopes up for a ceiling fan that puts out tons of light. Thats why i always use can lights. post up a picture of the rooms , maybe we can come up with a good way to get you some lights up without costing a fortune and cutting up your ceilings.

Here are the only pics I have of the living room, which is the room we are more concerned with as its where we spend the most of our time.

We installed can lights about 6 years ago. Love them. We use them both as task and ambient. They look some what hap-hazard but they have function, one over the fire place, two over the sofa, and two others to balance out the room "symmetrically" in line, and the kitchen is above the counters with one in the middle. Kitchen are all on one switch and work great eliminated the shadows while working at the counter or stove. The two lights above the sofa only get used when reading, I hate them when we are watching TV as they seem to be directly in our eyes, but they are on a different switch than the fireplace and the rest in our room so it isn't a huge deal. All have dimmer switches and get used with the dimmer all the time.

Would be better if they were on, to see locations but I took this at the early stage of our current renovation. Not for this thread.
