Right Side Performance builds a ProLite...

"140 inches of rear travel limit." What shocks are you going to run and what travel are you looking to get out back? Also, this is bad ass.

It's limited at 14. Measured at the wheel. I'm going to run a 14" bypass on the end of the link and make a spacer to get the limit exact. Don't know what brand yet.

I'm further along than those pics show. I'll get some updated pics tonight. It's definitely coming together alot faster than a rock racer.

Just so we're all clear: When Will says "I'm futher along than those pics show", what he means is "I rolled the rear diff housing over next to the chassis for some more photos. Maybe tomorrow I'll try to find a tire to sit next to it."

I thought that the 140" in the rule book link had to be a typo. 14.0" makes much more sense. This is going to be awesome.

Whew, long day.

Smart ass.

Well like usual i didn't read the book.

Well I went to the shop to make front spindle uprights this afternoon. I didn't get as far as I hoped. This might be the hardest part.

Not a whole lot of progress. Still waiting on some important parts before i can proceed with building stuff.

Got one big part today though.

Midplate/adapter from Scott Taylor should be here Monday or Tuesday. Should be able to make some rather quick progress after I get the motor and trans mounted.

Going the Ford route?
Yeah, unfortunately they make us. :flipoff2:

The class has a choice of three part numbers of crate motors that are similar in hp and tq. Ford and Mopar seem to win the most races. I think there might be one or two guys on a chevy. Ford motor has been the choice for several of the guys that I follow. Seems to work for them.

C'mon now- you know you just needed an excuse. Soon that blood will turn blue.

Actually I don't really care. I like just about anything with a motor. Though, this project will be way cooler than most. I didn't go through the rules or anything, but do they run these things in SCORE as well?

Oh, and what trans you gonna run?

I'm the same way. No brand loyalty here at all. I'm just more familiar with GM LS stuff. This carpotater thing with all the jets and leavers looks kinda scary too.

These things are pretty much only good for racing short course. That's it.

I think Brad Lovell raced his at some hill climb events but that was just for show and seat time.

Definitely are not desert racers. Only 14" and 12" front of travel.

Have to run a TH400 from one of three spec builders. Has to have stock gearing, no aluminum or titanium hard parts and a steel welded torque converter.

All these rules sound kind of limiting but it's the only way to keep the cost down. Buying an engine and transmission that is spec'ed and built to last an entire season is nice too. I'll have less dollars in the whole drive train in this ProLite than I have in the Ultra4 car's engine and transmission and I feel like I need to refresh those after every other big race to keep them happy.

Finally got the midplate today.

Thanks to Garret at RuffStuff Specialties for hooking me up with this cool axle shaft gauge. Whole lot easier than fighting a tape measure and a diff.

I think this is where it goes...
