Saw that. I never pulled for him, but this is undoubtedly a hit to the sport.

Was he and his wife the ones that were suing a life insurance company awhile back or was it another driver?

Also,
all the grocery stores and walmarts around here do a lot of promotions like product trailers and race cars and some driver autograph sessions during race week.
I just went to walmart. They had a Monster Energy promotions trailer and several men standing outside the entrance. I heard one man tell the others “we had a lot more planned, but we scaled way back because of the driver that died.”

I think it was an investment firm but they lost millions investing with that company, hence the lawsuit. They were scammed from what little I know about it.
And yes a lot of the racing activities for the weekend have been curtailed from what I'm seeing.

Didnt mean it that way.

Just when you are a celebrity, or for that matter anyone with legal advice and certainly a PR team - you remember anything you say can and will be used against you.

Frequently high value life insurance policies will have tier multipliers. So he may have had a $10MM policy that had decreters if his death was caused by X,Y or Z. And one of those could be drugs, or could be medical issued caused by lack of diagnosis. IE you dont go to the doc regularly, and a treatable cancer spreads you should have caught we aint paying the full amount.

Plus you always have the situation of - wanting to let those closest know the detals instead of reading it on tweeter.

Whereas, honestly I have nothing to lose (most of the time). And I truly didn't consider that perspective.

Been thinking about this since they said he'd been sick a couple weeks. Makes you really think about his dedication to his team and sponsors where he wasn't willing to take a break. I'm sure he would have if he would've known the consequences.

I wonder if this will stick in the back of the minds of others burning the candle at both ends.

I was listening to the two docs that Megan Kelly had on before the real cause was reported and one was saying at how being in the physically demanding sport he was in and had to endure so much as a driver that he may not feel symptoms like people in regular life do so wasn't as concerned as he should have been. I would hope that it does make people take a second and think about what could happen. I, for one, wait forever before going to the doc.
I'm wondering how his doctors feel about it. Did they just brush it off as a sinus infection and not go any further?
