Rivian electric truck

Hate to burst your bubble, but every single thing on that show about turtle island is fake. Eustace started out with great intentions, but became a business man many years ago. He is a crook, and has done so many questionable things in the last 5 years I hate to admit he lives up this way, not in assville.
Well damn, that sucks. But I'm not surprised. Reckon I should do so Google research and see what really happened.

One of my favorite parts of that show is that he has a 4 inch water pipe running down the creek, and the water supposedly turns a 24 inch sawblade that splits large oaks. He has a large diesel generator in the shed that really runs the saw.......

I noticed that also.

However, wood gas generators do work. Not necessarily viable for most uses, but works well on constant load devices, like say a generator. There's a document by Uncle Sam about WGG & plans from the 40's or 50's. It actually will work, but lots of effort to get it there.

I have read that if we switch 100% to EV and nuclear power we would run out of plutonium in as little as 5 years

I dunno, I’d drive the hell out of it if the wife pays for it.

You know what the best thing is for pollution? Keep driving the car/truck you have now. Mining/transporting/fueling all the needs to manufacture a new car is staggering. Batteries are horrible for the environment. Mining and drilling and fracking is horrible. No one needs a new car every 2 years. All this talk about good for the environment is wack.

So... generating power at one place and paying the efficiently losses only once will always be more efficient than paying the efficiency loss x10000 to produce power at each vehicle. Not counting other than fossil fuel power production. And yes there is losses for the mining of lithium but it's not like petroleum just appears at the gas station either. Fuel was a conversation I had with my son only last week. Just quick calculation. If sheetz has only 500 customers a day with 15 gallons each that would be 47250 lbs. A tanker truck! Every day! We know that petroleum is not sustainable. We have allowed power production to become what it is. A more distributed renewable system would be incredibly better. Hydroelectric is largely banned by the EPA yet we burn a train load of coal every 3 or 4 days at below. Every creek and river in nc should have a turbine every mile to capture all the power we can. But lobbyists have paid for legislation to limit our rights and protect their pockets. Good old gas engines will always have a place, but electric can fill a much needed niche. My wife drives 30 miles each way. An electric vehicle would suit her and many others well and we could still keep the mustang for the weekends.
