Had a biopsy today. It doesn't look good for my little buddy and faithful companion.
The only treatment option is amputation of her left front leg at the shoulder and chemo.
She is only 6 years old.
Life is short ya know.

Being in the position sucks ass to begin with but canine amputations are rough. It puts A LOT of stress on the other leg (in this case front). Being only 6 she would probably “learn” to cope but that’s all it would be. She will never be 100% and boxers are inherently springy and ambitious so it would be hard on her and you too for that matter. Guess this doesn't really help much. I had a friend with a 3 legged pal (real young when it happened) and he lived a good life but much shorter till he was just physically wore out and they had to put him down long before he should have been due to arthritis and joint failure from compensating all those years. Sorry for you and your pup! I hope things come around and she can enjoy her remaining time with you to the fullest.

Hate to hear this brother! She’s probably my favorite of the bunch. Always happy to see everybody. Love on her while you can.

Sorry to hear .I recently lost my dog and it sucked. I'll never make fun of another person and their dog.

So truly sorry to hear this. I lost my buddy almost 3 years ago to cancer, and not a day goes by I dont still miss him.
I hope all goes well for your pup. Stay strong for her, and enjoy every minute you have with her.

sorry

Dammit.
Why do awesome 4 legged friends get sick and worthless 2 legged bitches stay healthy?

Sorry buddy I went thru this with my boxer 6 times until leukemia got her in the end she only lived till 9 she was the beat dog ever for those short years I had her

I miss Cheyanne, she had something similar, she was a rescue, I don't know how much lunch meat I lost getting her to come back in the first 6 months. 10 years a best friend, thought it was an abcess(don't know how to spell it), the vet said it was cancer she would have lost a leg in surgery, probably wouldn't have survived it, we have a good vet, she reccomended we put her on an anti-inflamitory, we enjoyed her company for 9 months, before she let us know it was time. That was one of the hardest days, to dig the hole and say good-by. I've dug too many of those holes over the years (maybe 4, too many)

Dragging this one back up. She's fought cancer for 7 months. Never lost her smile and loving personality!
I've been hand feeding her and giving her all kinds of meds including doggy CBD oil to ease the pain.
Had a family meeting tonight with my girls.
Wednesday is her last day. It's time and it sucks to make this decision.
I'll post some more pics of her later. Tore up right now.

Sorry to hear this, it is absolutely amazing how hard it is to put down a creature whose poop you have to pick up 3 times a day, and who will never verbally thank you for everything you do.

The last dog we had was a rescue that we only had for 3 years.....putting him down was hands down one of the hardest things I have ever had to do.

It sounds like you have made the right decision.....that doesn't make it any easier, I hope you can enjoy the your last few days with her to their fullest.

Thoughts for you and the daughters in this tough time. Give her a great last day and cherish those memories for the rest of your days.

I know where you’re at brother. I’m glad me and the family got to see her one last time. She’s loved and will definitely be missed!
