Running on the beaches of the outer banks

The sand was hard here but I really had to run it to get through in other areas.

It does take about 9 hours from the asheville area...it is our first trip. we will do some surf fishing towmorrow.

I will get some shots of the deeper sand towmorrow. The sides do snap on and have doubble sided zippers and (plastic glass) windows,



but the top is steel with a sunroof. Untill then here's some shots of the ferry ride..Kinda cool too.

Went surf fishing today. I caught 4 grunts,and then this sand shark. It's hard to see in the pics but the sand is very loose here and about 8 inches deep. It's amazing how much this stuff slows your foward progress.......Gotta keep it moving!

Trailer.....we dont need no stinkin trailer!

The rail does drive on the road very well,65 ,70 is no problem. But 9 hours stuffed in that thing on the highway with all the idiots out there...... No you are correct I towed it down behind my duramax. Besides we needed the truck to haul all the rest of our stuff.

We were staying in Rodanthe for a week. we took a day to ride down to ocracoke island and look around then back on the ferry,hitting the beach access areas on the way back.It's an awesome place to visit.

Were leaving today to nags head for 10 days. Towing a 22 foot angler. Should be a blast. I wanted to rent a 4x4 to go on the beach because I couldn't bring the jeep. Any good places? Great pics

I live in leicester, but have a friend who lives off mills gap.

There is a rental place in rodanthe,( it's on the right )just stop there and ask them, they will know where you can rent one.

Driving on the beach was more fun then I expected!! Then we rode the ferry from south okercoke to swann quarter,then drove home from there...bad idea much farther drive but the ferry ride was cool,and i got a pretty good lightning shot.

Wow, that looks like a lot of fun! I have always wants to go there and do some dune jumping ha ha.. Great last photo, was that happening on the way back on the ferry ride?
