Running on the beaches of the outer banks

We are going to Ocracoke tomorrow for a week. Can't wait. Hope my trucks make it...... We usually take the Cedar Island Ferry but it was booked. We are taking the Swan Quarter Ferry too. Two Trucks, Five kids, three dogs and two adults.......
 
Ferry or no Ferry????

I woulden't take the ferry again, it was a 2 1/2 hour ride and we thought it would save us time but there was a detour near swan quarter and that slowed us down. But all in all 15 hours to asheville....too long my son drove north and then back and it only took 8 hours!

Yes I did get that shot just as we pulled into the swan quarter dock. Then we got caught in a really bad rain storm with hail.
 
looks like fun. We head down there a couple of times a year to do some fishing. some of the sand down there can get soft and some if just has hard as can be
