Sand Hollow!

The orange sand is like powder. Like we were dusted Cheetos

Man…I’m sitting here watching ‘the outdoor boys’ YouTube channel and just finished catching praying mantises with my girls, and it hit me that I needed to show them this thread and your FB posts. I think I’m gonna have a ton of questions for you. They seem to be a lot more interested in the side by side scene.

Misfitz trip being planned... All questions can be answered by coming on the next trip 😎

That trip looks like a blast. Jealous I am

Just stamp a like on the whole thread for me. The smiles are the best. Second only to the beauty of that area. Ya'll gonna owe your significant others big time. Mine would kill me for leaving her home.

Luckily my wife has always been supportive of this. I’ve wanted to do this forever, and when Elena was 3 I said I wanted to do a big father daughter trip with her when she was old enough to appreciate it and remember it forever, but young enough that hanging out with me is still super cool. I think I’ve nailed it. I’ve been nearly in tears a few times watching her smile. And she just keeps telling me how amazing it all is and how blessed we are.

I 100% plan to spend a few months out here next year with my whole family.

Just can’t believe we willingly chose to eat outside in 100° weather and it wasn’t bad at all. I love the weather here.

Main Street Cafe in Hurricane is absolutely fantastic in every way. We ate there over and over again while here.

How did y'all like the Slingshots? I've always thought they looked fun but also good be twitchy.

They do feel a little twitchy. Overall they’re cool to ride around and sight see. They can really hang a turn but the power was lacking. The main thing was the automatic manual trans that honestly just sucks a lot for hard driving.

However, to simply cruise around and enjoy the scenery they’re perfect. Cruising them thru Kolob Canyon was nothing short of amazing. The perfect vehicle to not have any obstructed view, and feel the temp change as we climbed in elevation. I would certainly rent one again for something like this.

Does the windscreen do anything? Or are glasses mandatory

Depends on how tall you are. It was useless for me because I have a tall torso and my head was basically over it. PT wore his hat and Derek was completely below it 🤷🏿‍♂️

Sadly sitting at the airport right now awaiting our 1pm flight Dallas and then return to Charlotte.

Absolutely beyond epic is the only way to describe this trip. No one has asked but I’m sure many are wondering, and I don’t mind sharing the costs. So here is the breakdown, not including food since that could really vary, but do know things are much more expensive here. Gas is still $5/gal and food in general is much higher, but it ain’t terrible.

We rented 2022 Polaris Turbo R, 2 seaters.
$549 for a 24 hour rental. We had them for 48 hours. We used Mad Moose Rentals and I can’t speak highly enough about them. They were incredible, had the best prices, and the gas was included with the rental. They just top it off as needed at no extra cost.

The Slingshots were $150 for 3 hours, we drove them up to Kolob Canyon which was every bit as amazing as Zion National Park.

Car rental was roughly $500 for Tuesday to Sunday

We rented an entire condo that was fully furnished with all that we needed. Pool, WiFi, gym, etc.
It was $145/night and it was in Hurricane, UT which was just 13 minutes from Sand Hollow State Park. This cost was split with 3 others.

Our flights were roughly $480 round trip per pserson. We flew into St George air port which was very small and very nice. That’s where we picked up the rental van. Very clean airport, easy to navigate and everyone was friendly.

We drove thru Zion National Park which was like $35 and absolutely amazing.

You can get a Turbo R in a 4 seater as well. I highly recommend you come out here if you’ve ever wanted, bring the family and make it happen. It’s just incredible.

I do recommend budgeting time and money for a helicopter tour over Zion and Bryce Canyon. I will do that next time for sure.

And most importantly, when you total their machine they high five you and go pick up their wrecked junk. Even shuttled the hot and tired ladies 40 miles back in an air conditioned JL.

uhhh y'all sound like me and my wife

He don’t know what’s going on cause I booked everything and told him and Troy where to be at what time and I’d take care of everything else 🤣

I also killed a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses I’d had for 6 years on this trip. That really sucked. Luckily I have a back up pair at home.
