The remote is waterproof, for what it's worth at this point.

Yeah, I saw that but I can use my phone and it never comes out of my extra cupholder on the dash.

The remote is really nice. It's small and easy to use without having to look at it. It also has a detachable hook on it so you can attachit to a lanyard/wrist strap/keyring. Depending on what you're doing it's might suck having to grab your phone every time you want to snap a pic
