Selling jewelry on eBay?

Have any of you sold jewelry on eBay?

I have a ring that some dude gave my mom a long time ago, dude was a douche, I hated him, they broke up, mom kept the ring, now I would rather have the cash than this meaningless ring.

I am assuming eBay is the best place but I don’t want to get scammed, looking for advice.

Ron...old dude with some serious posture problems. Trust me. Sharons mom and dad ran a jewelry store for 20 years..Sharon knows her stuff. She only trusts Ron with selling old jewelry as well as sourcing her new stuff (yes he can get anything Windsor jewelers can get for a much better price)
