What are they worth and is there any market for one? I'm looking at a cherry '06, 2500, CC, 4x4, Duramax truck that has a Reading classic 2 low profile service bed that is also in nearly new condition. I know nothing about service beds but the guy bought the truck new in 05' removed the stock bed the day he bought it (it comes with the truck) and installed the $9000 service bed. The bed has power locks , stainless crap all over it, it's nice I just don't want or need it. I have no clue what the service bed is worth if I wanted to sell it quickly. The truck is one owner, never modded, looks new inside and out and has been serviced to death, owned by a 65 year old contractor who just bought a '16 and bought a $13000 service bed for it. I want the truck, I just don't want to be stuck trying to unload this bed for months.Any clue? Hate to put my 01 CTD up for sale but I need a crew cab truck.

Yep. Being able to carry a full arsenal of tools, parts and gear locked up in the bed and still seat 5 in air conditioned comfort is worth its weight in gold.

Huh...never really gave much thought to keeping it. I guess the never used take off would be worth good coin if I sold it. I'm trying my best to offset the cost of buying a truck that the market has made overpriced in my eyes. The truck is cheap considering the market, but high considering what I really think a 10 year old truck with 180k should be worth.

True. But im still upset about no pics.

Back on track though, I would rock the service bed for a while. You may like it. And if you decide you don't I would think it could easily be sold. Plumbing company's, construction, concrete, ect would love to have it. Maybe even someone on here... But we would need to see a pic to determine this lol.

service beds have their pro's and con's , Ive got an 11 foot knapheide service body on my dually , makes the truck a mile long , super wide , hard to park , hard to see out of ect . But ... I can pack a ton of stuff into , I ride around with gallons of spare fluids , axles shafts , drive shafts , parts , tools , chains , straps , jacks , propane tanks , ect . and the only thing in the bed is the spare tire . Ive put my 400 ex and two Kawasaki dirt bikes in the bed and been able to close the tailgate . Mine isnt really practical for a DD , however a SRW utility body seems to me like it wouldn't be as over the top as mine and still have plenty of usable storage .
