Shaving what do you use can-o-cream or shaving soap?

Gel style cream, sometimes lather up with regular bar soap...

I have similar issue. If I shave every day, I break out really bad regardless of what cream I use/don't use. So, at most, its every other day.
 
Gillette gel works for me and I use Mach 3 razors they work the best for me. One tip to help out on the cost of razors is to buy them at the flea market. Saves me quite a bit.
 
I use WD40 and my pocketknife. Works really well not.

Can of stuff and a Mach3 razor is how I do it, but as everyone has said, it sucks. I try to shave once a month max.
 
I average 2 shaves per week... HAD to shave EVERY day for 4 years, twas enough to last me a lifetime!

Been using some my wifes girly face cleanser (slickest/soapest stuff I've every seen) & whatever Schicks 5blade razor is for several years... only AFTER my mug in the shower. NO bumps/break out.
 
Am I the only one that does it at night right before bed?

In the AM I'm too blurry to trust myself w/ a sharp object next to my face.
Plus once the fog wears off, I'm then suddenly in a hurry... but that's not usually until about 1/2 way through the commute ;-)

Yup. If I shaved at night, my 5:00 shadow would be at 5 AM. By the time I was ready for the public, I'd be pretty burly. I have to shave every day or two. If I go a week, I can trim it with scissors.

I also shave at nite.
 
About once a week in the winter, a little more often when the weather gets warmer. Often I cheat and just shave my neck, especially when its cold out. Use the Mach III in the shower with my standard Dial bar soap. Sometimes I'll use the wifes leg shaving gel, now that it in a blue can instead of pink, its OK. Every couple weeks I trim goatee/moustache/sideburns with the electric clippers.

@ 14 I started with a straight razor my dad give me. Went from there to one of those double edged razors, then to the Goodnews disposables. Was there for years. Got a Gillette Fusion in the mail, and have been there for several years. Five blades, best shave I have ever had. I use the cheapie $.99 foamy stuff in a can. Wet face with hot water, spread on foamy stuff and go at it. In the winter I do grow somewhat of a beard, but keep it trimmed pretty close. The summer will find me with at least a Go--T, Never ever shave what's on the lip!
I used the soap in a cup for years till I found the foamy stuff. I think the brand I used was Colgate brand. I think it's still out there on the market.
 
the 5 blade freebie clogged with my goat thickness hair....the mach 3 is perfect for cleaning out.
 
My dad used the Old Spice cup-a-soap & brush until the day he died...I myself, as many others here, don't care for shaving, and have been sporting my annual Winter Beard since Christmas...usually shave it mid-spring (gillette 2 blade disposable, edge gel) and then if I keep up with it, I can use the braun electric every other morning to keep it baby-smooth.

I use the cheapie $.99/can Colgate foamy stuff and Gillette Sensor Excel blade I believe it is. Been using that combo for many years. I shave every day except sometimes skip Saturday or Sunday. I shave in the morning. I like to have a clean cut appearance at work.
 
Dry shave when im in a hurry. Shave cream in a tube with a badger brush when im not

I used to use a Mach III razor and Edge gel but would get razor burn and break out. Then I switched to Proraso shaving cream, a brush and a Merkur double edge safety razor and the difference is amazing. Skin is smooth, no burn and no break out. The secret is the cream and the brush because I have used my Mach III instead of the safety razor on occassion and had the same results.
 
I use beard trimmers without the guard. If I shave with a razor my neck breaks out or gets ingrown hairs.
