Shaving what do you use can-o-cream or shaving soap?

I use the Mach 5 and the Gillette gel when I want a really close shave for the lady. For the days I'm at the FD, an electric razor does the trick.

Can of Seafoam and a straight razor.

I learned early on to never shave with cold water. I use can of foam and Mach 3 about twice a week at the sink with VERY hot water! Been thinking about one of those hot lather machines.
Anybody tried those?

This will sound brutal but its not....I use to break out as well, until I tried a bathroom fog free mirror and shave in the shower.
No cream just water.
I literally stick my face in the shower stream and shave....smooth as heck and no razor burn.

I do it the way I learned while on maneuvers in the Army... get water as hot as you can, and as sharp a razor as you have, and go KOMMANDO. Mostly because it could get hard to find shaving cream after you've been in a war for a few weeks, which I figured it would be good practice for, just in case.

I used to use Shick throwaways, but I got a Gillette Fusion as a free sample in the mail, maybe a year ago, and I've been using that since.

PS: Go AGAINST the grain, it gets closer! Even after using it several times, it gets even a 2 1/2 week growth off quick, and I have yet to cut myself one time.
