Thinking of buying a dirt bike in Austin Texas but need to ship it to NC. I've never had to ship anything like this, anyone had experience with this. And no, I can't find one closer like I want.

On you ship post that your business is buying it and that's where it will be shipped. Someone might catch the hint and call you direct and you can get it done cheaper than uship since they add charges and fees

Have it taken to a local shop and crated up in one they received a new bike in. Then have a broker like Pilot or someone pick it up with a liftgate truck and it will be at your shop in a few days. Probably 3 business days from TX using Pilot and standard economy rate.

Just watched these guys drop a bike off in Roxboro last week and I used to see their trucks regularly in Laconia for bike week. I assume hauling it back from Daytona for the owner.

They want $600....I can ship a car cheaper. I've got a quote for $430 so far. If I can find a Mercedes to buy,tow home and flip between here and Austin, I'll just road trip it.

Thats what I expected you to do. I would just add it to one of our trucks since we regularly pay for a whole truck and have a little space leftover, but I don't have anything in TX any time soon.

GL we don't have anything out that way that can help.

What do you do?

I would think $350 is a good deal. 4-5 years ago I bought a KTM from Michigan and paid about the same to have it shipped here. Went through UShip as well without an issue.
Or you could find me that 450SLC along your way and pick it up yourself....

Some doctor in Texas bought my k1200s when I sold it. I shipped it to him via "forward air" on his dime. I just took it to GSO and loaded it in an aluminum crate. I'm no real help other than that tidbit
