Shop for vw transmission?

Anyone got a recommendation in the raleigh area?
Stupid sealed transmission. I think the fluid just needs to be changed, but I can't do it without a pump.

I can't help you with a shop, but I can tell you it's probably more than a fluid change. VW autos usually fail in a more expensive fashion. What is it doing? Slipping in first?

It's not really slipping, but when you first put it in gear it's like it doesn't always go in, then catches and drives fine. It's acting exactly like my last auto when it was low on fluid. But with sealed transmission, I can't check or fill it

Sorry, Lee. Didn't even think about you! Seems in the realm of mechanics, there's guys that do Euro stuff, and guys that do everything else.

HSCRugby, if anybody can do anything with it, I'm sure Lee can. This sounds exactly like what my friend's was doing. 2001 model. Starting from a stop, it would sometimes slip for a few seconds. If you weren't careful to back off when it grabbed, it would slam you back pretty hard...for a 2.slo at least. After a couple of $1100+ quotes, his solution was to sell the car.

it's already fixed. it was low on fluid. we serviced it to fix his leak,also put a window regulator in it.

I hate when the window regulator goes out in my transmission, gets me every time.
