Seriously, my $.02:
If it's the rule, follow it. Be mindful of bad pics ie: beer cans in pic, trash falling from your hand, being off of known trails, anything that could be used as ammo. If you want to drive up a tree, make sure your home is in the back grown. If the water is on the trail, just keep it to yourself, or post in a host site and link it. The State of NC is all about revenue, and what ever they can find to fine someone, they will.
 
I see no trucks in this thread so it should be moved to chit chat. :D

WOW...ok..so this is the thing, YES we should watch what we post, because that is the rule!! and if it was not, then it is now, BUT I think some of this stuff is going a little far like bigwoody said we could just clear cut it, and you know the Paris to Dakar race has been going strong since 1978 and they eat up some stuff, and you dont see to many greenes there or Moab...GAW..look at some of the pics of that place, but yet it is still open to ride. Anyway like someone said they will us anything not just trees or water, but again it is the rule of the forum and we need to respect it and not be cry babies about it and just say, sorry wont happen again....that is my $.02

Sorry guys, I had to chime in being a small town land owner - BIGWOODY is right - no one cares if you sell out and build a strip mall or office buildings, but they go crazy if you climb a tree with your rig? What is the difference than cutting down the tree and burning it in the woodstove? In my opinion I own the damn trees on my land and I can do whatever I want with them.

It was never questioned about what you guys do with your land. It's your land. Do what you want with it. But the folks trying to close our trails do care, and use the pictures as ammo, hence we're asking folks to be careful what they post, both to help the image of our sport, and the image of our board.

No offense taken at all - I enjoy this board and I understand you guys need to protect yourselves. Everyone can come over and climb any trees they want to - we will just make sure we are careful with the pictures.

they are going to build bridges. i spoke with the Head Ranger a year or so back and he claimed that this will happen on all river crossings and that trail 5 will be shut down during this time. Not sure when it'll take place but it will eventually.

Lets go and show em whats up when we do what we do and if thats not enough than we can do it again and show the rest of the crowd thats its really in what you think it is and not what they think about it and thats that,end of story...I dont have any better way to look at it at the moment.Look at the guys that do what they do and they arent complaining about what we do unless theres a problem but I dont think theres any other way around what the guys are trying to prove.Let it be...............make any sense?Niether does this crazy idea of censoring pics.......I understand theres some people out there that can make a really bad name for us but if you dont know what land im riding on how can you say Im running somewhere I shouldnt be......its your rule but it aint cool.....
 
Well I have not read all of this thread, and don't intend to, but as has been said, it is not good for pics of creek crossings and vehicles in rivers, as the EPA does not like that at all.

Forest Games in Danbury NC was closed down by the EPA because they did not have bridges on any of their creek crossings....
 
if the greenies want ammo they just need to open any 4x4 mag and not even bother with this site. So i guess im of to borders books to burn them all.

Can't do that...too much pollution... I vote we cage up all the greenies and leave them in the woods, for the bears! :D

Oh and TOYOTA all the way. (It's a reliability thing. You Jeep owners wouldn't understand.)
 
look people, i have one question to ask.... do you LOVE your sport?? If so then listen to the people who matter, they are trying to tell you that posting up pics of this stuff give the tree-huggers ammo to endanger OUR places to ride. like it or not they are right!!! second, from what i am hearing they are not necesarilly trying to discourage you from haveing fun on your property, in fact the opposite, we are all people who generally wheel the same way, in the SAME PLACES, and go up the same trees (and break axles), if you are listening you would hear that the mods dont care for the censorship either, it is just one of those necessary evils! we need to be better than some of the other boards as most of us wheel in N.C. and as long as this place is called NC4X4 WE REPRESENT THE PEOPLE WHO ENJOY THIS PRIVELAGE. lastly pbb represents the community across the nation, if thay dont care what they do then they will continue to suffer huge land closures in their backyard, ie CALIFORNIA. AGAIN FROM WHAT I AM HEARING NONE OF US LIKE THE CENSORSHIP BUT SOME OF US CARE ABOUT COMING ACROSS IN A POSTIVE LIGHT TO THE MASSES. it aint right, but we gotta do it to protect ourselves, kinda like dont play in traffic, ya know?

Guy's I didn't want to come across like I was pissed off about no pics being posted of "tree climbing," or water crossing - I'm on everyone's side here - sorry, but maybe I didn't really come across too clear. Sorry if I offended anyone as that wasn't my intentions.
 
seriously though, why not slap some kind of watermark on uploaded pics?
