Friend of mine is a realtor…says this is the first time she’s gotten decrease notifications in over a year…and these are all from today. Maybe an anomaly…maybe the beginning of a trend…

First time I've seen one for this price in about 2 years.

I wouldn't even say its a great deal, but with a cab and hydraulic thumb, and in functioning condition its at least a decent deal.

I read a while ago (can’t remember the author), but a sign of times to come are a big dip in woman’s beauty supply sales and of all things, mens underwear. Apparently those are the things people skimp on first when times start getting tight. Said it’s happened before every recession going back to the depression supposedly. It was on the internet so it’s true.

This is the real indication things are hitting the crapper

I've been looking at equipment on FB here and there. This week I saw one for $15K too. I have a year before I can actually pull the trigger but I figure I might was well educate myself on used prices now.

Talking with a few LEO friends there has been a rise in petty theft. Small items, food etc. This has been a marker for them in the past that times are getting tough for people.

There are other small signs that won’t get the press just yet. I’m seeing a slight dip in business and percentage changes on package take rates at customers washes. They’re seeing it too and have for the last two months since we have been out of the heavy pollen season. I’ve had more conversations in the last month about converting to some cheaper products to manage margins as all costs have gone up. Taxes, water, insurance, labor. For two years it’s been set it and forget it. Just go get the orders. Other than that, friends in tourist areas are seeing lighter traffic and lower sales than in years past. Some in more affluent areas than others.

Of course…I’m speaking in 2020 dollars

big dip in woman’s beauty supply sales

Got my staffing and supply chain worked out about 9 months ago. Been setting record production/revenue months every month since. Quite frankly, I could sit idle the rest of the year and have higher revenue than 2020 (and 2020 was a 30% increase over the prior year). Target cancelled enough orders to eliminate half my Q4 production. No real harm, just means some of my nice new shiny equipment to increase speed and volume will sit. But all of it is what most would consider beauty supplies.
