Hi everyone, got the weed eater out to start the season and the stupid little fuel pump thingy won't pump fuel into the carb or anything (won't fill up with fuel like it should) therefor it won't run...after 10 pumps it will start but die cause it won't fill up with fuel. I checked all the lines by unplugging them and checking for leaks by blowing through them, all good. Filter in the tank all good. I'm ok with these things but loose patience very quickly working on these small engines.
Any help/ideas that I'm missing would be very much appreciated, thank you!

is the fuel bulb cracked?
this cheap ass gas we buy now eats mine about once a year. I keep spares laying around.

The priming bulb coulvd have a crack in it causing it to not prime. I know you said you checked the fuel lines, but I would start by replacing them all. They are cheap insurance.

if it was cracked would it leak fuel or not like that...and i had it sitting empty all winter as I drain my mowers and weed eaters after the last use of the season. I will go get a new one tomorrow, I think I've seen advanced sell a variety pack.
Thanks everyone...getting behind on mowing now lol

Leak, sometimes yes, sometimes no.

Had to replace my bulb. Also found the cheap gas had softened up the gas line.

Dries out one rubber and softens up the other o_O

Could be a stuck check valve inside the carb, but since it will start and die, it sounds like a hardened fuel pump diaphragm inside the carb. You can rebuild or replace. The primer bulb simply assists with starting. It does nothing afterwards.

ok thanks guys. I'm gonna get new lines and bulb tomorrow and hope it's good...

Replace the carb, lines, and primer bulb. The red ones are alcohol resistant. Ebay the carb, probably $25. I no longer clean carbs due to the non-replaceable check valve built into them (unless it's a real single feed carb with no bulb). Carb kit is 2/3 the cost of the whole new carb. 'Nuf said.

thank you everyone for your help in the right direction. It ended up being this ^^^. I got new fuel line/bulb kit this morning, no luck. So local place had carb rebuild kit for 11.00 and replaced the gaskets and parts :kaioken::kaioken::kaioken:....and then it was good. The Flaming Anger is that little stupid spring that sits under/part of the fuel plunger inside the carb flew off and ....................................that many words later i found it. Freaking small engines suck to work on!!! Oh it rattled my cage for a good hour or so looking for little sucker. Works like a champ now!! Thank yall again for the help.

Cool, glad to hear you got out with just a kit. (I can't afford to rebuild a carb and have the check valve be bad... 1/2hr @ $45 is 22.50, there is my justification between kit and carb)

yeah here in boone the local small engine repair is 60.00 p/h so I've forced myself to "tinker" with lawnmowers and such to fix them myself until absolutely no choice. I'm pretty good at fixing them but I just can't stand the small parts and stuff lol but it teaches me patience!! thanks
