Snappys final house build

With a lot of input from a fellow board member I am building my dream home on family land and will be the last home I live in I hope. The house will tell a story when you drive up it I hope. Hear is the plan so far, we are tweaking and changing as we go. 3 bed room 2 bath with a good sized garage.
Polished concrete heated floors and thicker walls should help keep power cost down. More details as we go…..

Back filling with gravel. Even had help from my ride or die!

Under the wrap around porch we will be using a reclaimed 1890’s hand hewn taccabo barn. We tore it down this weekend and will be having them milled in have and use for siding under my porch area on top of metal sheeting. Above the roof line of tge porch will be board and batten and the garage will be all metal. So basically it will look like it has been added on to 2 times over the years!

Now for some of the fun parts of the build. Dug my well and I am using a kids play house for my house house which will become a “gnome” home! Going to use a constant pressure pump and housing the surge tank and filter system inside this with a small strip heater in the box we build around all of it. My thinking is it will save space in the mech room for the bioler/wh and all the plumbing for the in floor heat system.

I’ve have two polished concrete floors before. Very smart on going the heated route. They can be hard on the feet, beds tend to walk about so plan on rugs or rubber feet of some sort. Oh and glass bowls shatter quite spectacularly. Shards travel in excess of 20 feet, ask me how I know.

We are doing the house side first traditionally and doing the garage as a pole barn style next. Was cheaper to got traditional on house side.
