Until I saw this other bumper. :burnout:

Help me decide. This is my Jeep currently. I've already got a winch (M8000) and am having the bumper built in the next few weeks.

R u building a mall crawler or a trail rig? That would affect my decision.

It is street driven daily, but not my sole dd, and trail rig. Not trying to be a beauty queen, but not wanting to give up all street-ability.

Glad to see all these votes for B. It's the one I had already gotten a quote for and was planning to go with.

Redneck92 I like the way you think. I'm also planning to plate the holes, but I will most likely wait until I buy some type of lights and get them mounted up to avoid having to cut holes in the plate after the fact if the lights will fit in there. The little corner piece hanging down right in front of the drivers tire (and also passengers?) will be getting hacked off as well.

B should also provide better lower radiator protection from road hazards, bouncing rocks off trucks or whatever gets kicked up off the road at highway speeds.

^ why not just put your existing lights on top on each side of where the winch would go. btw thats a clean wj, way cleaner than the one we have.

The lights I have now suck, and one of them is broken. A coworker intentionally backed into me (hard, long story) and cracked the housing. I've got it taped together with a wrap of electrical tape. His Nissan Altima trunk lid fared way worse than my one light though. Thanks for the compliment!

I'm thinking of going with Rigid Industries 6" led light bars with one on each side, or a center mounted 10" led bar, or a couple Duallys or D2's, or Baja Designs 10" light bar or 3x3's. Spending that kind of cash on lights is a hard pill to swallow though, particularly when I need stuff like under body protection. :)

Yeah I have seen the prices on rigids, I'm totally content with not making everybody around me think it's sunrise.

That's what is cool about the Baja Designs, they have dim and strobe functions built in, but according to MSRP are a little more pricey.

I also like B better, but I have to ask.... If you plan to plate in the sides so you can't see through to the core support. Why not have the whole bumper built from plate and ditch the tube all together? I haven't seen a bumper where a guy started with tube and filled in the voids with plate that looked good. It's super hard to weld the seam between the two clean enough to not look like crap.

I like the idea of putting lights in holes in the side plates but you also will be limited to a small light because the gap between the upper and lower tube is a bit small.

I'm not dissing your design at all and I see you already have a builder in mind. I'm merely speaking from experience and opinion. Just wondering why you're not intersted in a plate style. If you don't plate the sides I really like B. It looks nice on that WJ.

What's behind door no. 3?
Door number 3 was too pricey IMO, and was actually door number 1, but it was this:

I tend to lean towards plate bumpers also, but they are $$ for someone that doesn't know how to weld. Roughly 3 times what I was quoted for the bumper (B) above. For the time being I'm content with it as pictured, I like the looks of it. Who knows, one I get it on it may never change again aside from eventually putting some lights on.
