Storm damage

Who got damage? I have a tree down I have to deal with, and the Uwharrie River runs right by my house and was flooded like I’ve never seen in my 4 years living in this house. In fact, yesterday just riding around was the worst flooding I recall in my area period.

I’m so glad the tree fell the other way!!

Just lost a few large branches that I know of. I haven't fully checked out my triangle point of land yet. That section has lost about 4 trees this year. Hopefully, I didn't lose anything this time.

Mostly just big branches and stuff, I'm much better off with my new house being up on the hill.

My old house is under water, heard the crawlspace filled up and got into the house.

It was raining and dark when I got home last night, and dark when I left this morning, so I haven't been able to fully assess the situation, but it looked like just branches down from what I could see.

We sprung two leaks in the roof. Neither is very big and neither has caused any real damage. I do currently have to take the scenic route home as one end of our road is under about a foot of water.

This is a bridge in my district. We have a few that are under water and a lot of private Bridges that are now gone.

Dude...I evacuated the plant yesterday while there was a break in the red bands, tornado protocol was not fun. From what I'm seeing we had upwards of 3 funnels touch down within a 15 mile radius. Fortunately, my house was damage free, but the flooding and damage I've seen driving around was pretty intense.

Lot of rain and wind. Power has been off in the neighborhood since 12:15pm yesterday. Latest Duke update was supposed to be noon today now they are saying power back on at 10:30pm tonight. Got to watch a lot of cars spin out and crash at work yesterday so that was fun.

Didn't see much damage at my house last night or this morning other than some branches down, but I wouldn't be surprised to see some tonight with all the wind we're getting today in Raleigh after all the rain yesterday. The creek in my backyard turned into a stream and crested the bank/pooled in a couple of spots. I'd built a bridge out of railroad ties & 2x8s to get my mower/atv to the other side and water was up to it. Gonna walk/wade out there this evening and do some clean up.

Lucked out again at my house; a few small limbs, & 1 hill section of driveway started washing some. I figure my rain gauge is a little short, but compares with the Airport. "WillC" from Shelby dropped by & picked up a compressor, around 10:45 am. It was Nice here then. But right after he left, a tornado was dropping in Grover, & heading up through Shelby/Kings Mtn. Bet he drove right through it!

I think you mean evaporated...

Huge thanks to @Chris_Keziah and @BigClay for coming over this morning and making very short work of this. Of course if we get together, it seems there’s winching involved. Usually winch Clay, but this time we drug the tree into the back yard to limb it out and pile it up. I’ll have a MASSIVE fire soon.

We ended the day having a fantastic smoked brisket sammich!

Thanks again guys!

No,I've got my dad's old saws. One Homelite XL from the 60s and a Huskvarna from the early Eighties. Both run great.
Always cut a couple chords every year growing up for the wood stove. Was happy in 78 when we had a blizzard stuck in the house for 4 days, shorts and a t shirt. Then we got in trouble when we went out and walked up the drifts on to the roof of neighbors house.

Creek came out of the banks at my house. Up into car port, covered all my driveway, inside of an hour. And went back down just as fast. My septic didn't like the high water table. But that's good now. Reminds me, I got to wash my clothes...

That Creek is normally 4-6ft below where it is in the pictures, and only 2-3 ft wide and maybe 6" deep at the most. I've not walked in the back yard yet, but it's 10' below my yard back there, and it's under cutting some of the banks in the back yard.. I need to go to look and see. Really though it's not my Creek, it's the property owners. So is where I rent.
