I gotta jump in here with Aaron on this one....

Topic: Is Your Rig Unbreakable?

his His first post header: yep

the first question: so your going to be the next guy jamming up the trails?

His responce: that will be me...tired of wrenching on something instead of being on the trails

Ignoring all else that was said after that point be it from Aarons mouth or anyone elses.... I say he's a selfish Dumb ass too!

I just spent 6 months + working on my trash. I could take it the trails right now and wheel, but I know I will break it because although It can be driven, it still needs a couple finishing pieces to avoid breaking. I've taken a ration of shit from buddies about not having it done and ready and told to stop being a pussy and wheel it. But I'm not gonna be the guy that's on the trail knowing I'm gonna break and saying screw it because I want to play. FUCK THAT! he is a selfish idiot. get your shit in gear, get it fixed or go ride bitch with someone.
I'm gonna have to side with this guy and Aaron. When this whole thing started, it was about a guy who said he KNEW something on his rig would break but he was taking it out anyhow. Aaron said he didn't want the guy doing that and then clogging the trail for the next 50 rigs.

How that turned into a bunch of flames directed at Aaron and NOT at the first guy I don't know, but the one who KNOWS he's likely to break is the one who should be on the receiving end, not Aaron.

To be honest, the main reason I haven't had my Jimmy on a trail yet is that I know I'm not ready yet. I need to buy some more gear including a tow strap and clevises, and until I have what I need I'm not going anywhere near a trail. Even though someone here said they've been all over URE in a stock vehicle (which is encouraging considering that's me, except for a body lift and 31's) I don't want to be the one blocking a lot of other people. Then too, I have to drive it to work all week, too.

I've never weighed it.
I've compared it to similar 715's on rockwells (that have been weighed) and I am certain it is less than 7k.
Figure the tong weight (I had to move it forward from that position) and it is most likely within it's load range.
I'm looking at tripple axle, deck over trailers right now. That guy is temporary.

The best way to look at it I think is this.
Most trailers I know of in that class are 2200-2500lbs
Your truck you say weight around 6K to 7K max
Your axles are most likely 3500 lbs
its total would be say 6500+2350=8850lbs
8850-3500-3500=1850
10% of 8850 is 885lb for the ball weight.
1850-885= 965lb
965/2=482.50lb
So if your truck weight is 6500 lb and trailer is 2350 lb with 3500lb axles that would put you 482.50 lb over tha max limit for each axle.
Hope this helps.

That's most likely very accurate. I had figured 15% for tong weight.
I think that gets me to about 260 over. It's close
