Suzi Q samurai buggy build

Thanks for the compliment sparkn89.

I got some more work done on the samurai tonight, got a brace made and welded on for the steering column with the trans tunnel cut out the factory mount didnt have alot of support. Also got most of the exhaust done, once the boat sides are welded on for the final time I will have to cut a hole for the tip to exit out.

You were close with both winches on and a full tank of fuel it weighs 3009 lbs with 56% in the front.

Does that mean I win the Sammi as my prize for being so close?! Or maybe a consolation prize of getting to take it wheeling one weekend?! :D

Nah I can't do that, but I could let you ride. :)

Looks awsome man ready to see it out on the trails, how much higher is the ride height compared? 3-4"?

Well time for an update, samurai is back from paint sorry for the low quality cell phone pics and the poor lighting just too cloudy yesterday for any good pictures. The body isn't black its just a really dark charcoal grey metallic, I think the name is anthracite grey it came off a 98 nissan. The silver is actually a little darker when you see it in person but it is machine silver off an 08 corvette and it has some metallic in it also.

Unfortunatly the samurai is going to have to sit for awhile as I am currently renovating my kitchen and the soon to be nursery. Me and my wife are expecting our first, a little boy on Feb 4th. So while I finish up the projects at the house the sami will have to wait but I am over halfway to finishing the house so hopefully it wont wait too long.

Coolest Sammi EVAR!

I've loved watching this build and I can't to see it all assembled with paint. When is the first trip?

I've got to get my house remodel done first but once I jump back on the samurai I will be updating the threads on the forums, just keep an eye open for it. I have about everything to assemble it so it should go pretty quick once I start on her again. I don't know when the first trip will be, I will need to do a couple tuning sessions getting all the bugs worked out. Anybody got good suggestions for a good event to debut her at?

Well its been a busy week and we've been able to get some work done on the samurai, nothing major just assembling it and a bunch of painting for a bunch of odds and ends parts. Heres some pics to keep yall happy and let me know what yall think.

Custom no scratch axle assembly jig. Used these old rover seats to hold the axles while I installed the diffs.

a copper intake?? you can't hide money!! looking good man!!

scared to death!!!!!
It was hard finding a foundry to make it for me had to fly to China and meet with the big industrialists over there and finally convinced them to make me one. But don't worry its conflict free copper, the workers were paid minimal wage (.10 cent a day) and no major conflicts were happening at the time.

Got a little done on the samurai so far this week even with the cold. Heres the trans and tcases all painted.

Also worked on the engine and got it put in place. I had to go ahead and install the exhaust since I wont have room after the engine is installed and while I was at it I put the clutch on also. After setting it inplace I put the valve covers on to get an idea of how she's gonna look. More to come later this week but for now heres the pics of the progress to this point.
