Tapping on a masterlock

Came across that same video yesterday.

Next thing I knew, I had sat through another 10-12 of his videos.

Ha!
 
So has anybody else tried it? Now I wanna walk out to the truck and get the "lock" out of my console.

I think the key is have enough tension for the friction to hold the locking pin/plate back, but not so much that the tapping prevents it from being withdrawn from the slot.
 
I have 6 locks identical to the video. Tried 2 this morning. No luck. Its kind of a moot point though, bolt cutters aren't very expensive and quieter than a hammer.
 
Yeah, I tried it at lunchtime. Maybe my hammer was too big (thats what she said), but I couldn't do any pop-n-lock-n.

Yeah, if I hear something that sounds like tinman rubbing one out to "How it's Made" I'm investigating with a barrel and my Fenix light pointed at it
