Taurus Police Cruiser

the Chargers are pieces of shit too. my buddy whom i mentioned earlier in this thread has had all kinds of issues with his. he managed to lock up the motor in his going thru a puddle of water that was ~1 deep in a parking lot one day. they only cost wake co 17g a piece but they got what they paid for. he was listing off all the problems they have been having with them the other night but i cant remember what all he said. they are fast as hell, but thats the only good thing about them
I'm not a Dodge lover or hater, but I'll say this. I was issued my Charger last April (5.7 Hemi) and after 38,000 miles of hard driving I have not had a single issue.

It doesn't hurt the Charger SRT8 comes with 426 hp in civilian form so I am assuming with the police modificatons it would be close to a 450-475Hp.

1: The police chargers use the 5.7 engine.
2: What would these secret "police modifications" be? Those days are loooong gone.

according to my buddy, his county issued one has the 6.1 in it.

in defense of the chargers tho, his gets the crap beat out of it. he's a paramedic so he goes 0-60 wide open all day long.

On the Ford Crown Vic and 5.0's, the PI package included silicone coolant hoses, external oil cooler, larger transmission cooler, and a larger radiator. I also believe larger front and rear sway bars with heavier rear springs are the norm for the package. As far as "secret HP" goes, there is nothing different from any other production engine.
