Tax check WTF?

You should have held out for a free trip on their corporate jets, they have plenty.
.
Had many trips on them .....heck one of them even took me from Atlanta to Greensboro to check into drug rehab about 20 years ago or so, one of the perks for the execs. I guess (they'll cart their idiot kid around on the companys dime) . HA!

sounds like par for the course with wachovia. i started banking with them a few years ago because at the time they were about the only place offering free checking. they caused me headache more times than i can count. i finally switched all my personal stuff to secu and couldn't be happier. we use first citizens for the business, and have generally had good service from them also.

make SURE they have actually closed your accounts. it took me 3 screaming fits to finally get mine closed. they kept sending me monthly statements (with a 0 balance) and then had the nerve to threaten me with a monthly service charge due to inactivity.:shaking:

'bout 20 yrs ago - Wach or the ole First Union? I was with FU, then they bought the "W" cause their name was so bad! And proceeded to trash it also.

FU back then had a Jet Commander, Hawker and then Citation II's.

maybe walkalloaverya is having a bad time, with the way the economy is,and them having to borrow 7millon(i think i heard on the news),but damn they need to keep the customer happy if they want to survive

I hate banks ! They just don't care anymore.. They want the bottom feeders who they offer their free (aka fee) banking to. They pull so much crap its unbelievable.

I bank with Coastal FCU they are pretty good. I would see if you can find a CU that does handle businesses.

What does it take to start a bank?

what does it take to start a bank? Im interested. I bank with SECU, and my boss banks with Wachovia ( aka watchoverya...ie: watch over your own money so you dont get screwed) everytime trying to do anything with wachovia sucks majorly, SECU is a breeze, they are always happy to answer any questions. My SECU credit card number was stolen from ECU's database while i was in school there, and some guy in alabama charged over 11k to it. SECU called me and asked me about it, then took care of the whole thing, no damage to me or my credit.

This was with Wachovia...pre-onion days. It was a queen air, maybe they put the screw up kids on their prop garbage, I do remember a damn good chicken biscuit being served however.

F%#@ ALL BANKS!!!!!! Use a credit union. If you have to use a bank for a business account find a small locally owned one and use it. I'll absof'inlutly NEVER do business with a bank again! I'm with SECU and love it. If I couldn't get on there I'd be with coastal. I've never had anything but problems with a bank other than a small locally owned one. Checks that bounced because they hit the bank the same day as the deposit, charges to cash a check drawn on THAT bank cause I didn't have an account, etc, etc. Banks and Insurance companies can all go strait to hell....To put it mildly.

CFCU Has done me well

I left Walkovia years ago. I used BB&T until I got a runaround over a bad payout from a Teller Machine. Started a CFCU account when I was an IBM'er. CFCU did me a great thing when I was buying my house. I was borrowing money from my 403B as a down payment. I was processing the loan for it over the holidays. One thing led to another because of the holidays and year ends with my 403B account. Net result was that from the 403b wasn't going to show up until the day of the closing. I needed a certified check to close. 2 or 3 days before the closing I went to my CFCU branch. I had all of the paper work for the 403B loan, the purchase of the house and the loan app for the house. I asked to speak to the branch manager. We sat down and I explained the situation. He pulled up my accounts. He looked at my paperwork. Then said: Come in on the day - bring the check - bring in the same paperwork. Gave me the name of the manager that would be on duty - said to ask for her. Told me he would set everything up so I could deposit the check and get the certified one needed for the closing. I walked in on the day of closing. I asked for the lady who's name he gave me at the reception desk. The lady at the desk asked me if I was so and so - I said yes, she seated me in the Asst. Manager office and she came right and and said the were ready. She made a few copies of my paper work and came right back with the check and my originals.
It was great service. I borrowed the money for my last Jeep from them - it cost me a hair more than the other banks were offering - but the earned my repeat business with their service.

Walk-all-over-ya has gained quite a rep and not a good one. I have an acct with them but ONLY because I have about 5-6 items that are drafted from there. SO I have one of my checks direct deposited in to cover them.

The rest of my moolah I moved over to Southern Community (On New Garden Rd / Bryan Blvd) They are STELLAR at helping you out, know ya by name kind of folks. There is a reason the "small bank" has come back so strongly and you have just experienced it.

BTW, if you are interested, they have a fairly neat service where they send a DRIVER by YOUR BUSINESS daily to pick up your deposits! Or, if you wanted they will set up equipment where you basically scan any checks and they go directly in that way as well.

If I was looking for a bank in the Triad, the two best that I recommend to our clients are Bank of Oak Ridge and Southern Community.

We have LOTS of bankers that come to our office since we have lots of sway with our clients here at the firm, so we have a relationship with nearly all of them and those two "little" banks consistently outperform the rest.

I have a couple contact names for you if you are interested!

Sam

I used to have checking through Centura and all my savings and loans through SECU. I finally got fed up with all of Centura's BS fees and moved everything to SECU. Best decision I ever made. So much simpler and people are so much easier to deal with.
