The 35 minute texting thread got me wondering...

How many ways can you communicate directly via your cell phone?

How many different ways of communicating with others do you have on your cell phone? What are they? Got a favorite?

I've got 5. Two emails, text, phone, facebook messenger (I know...), not including the internet in general because you can't really get a notification from that.

I think my favorite would still have to be the phone, depending on the situation. Sometimes a quick text is in order, but texting a whole conversation is annoying as hell.

Im still in the dumb phone world so im pretty limited haha. Call and text, thats it.

Several email accounts, im, SMS, tapatalk, Skype... Plus the phone.

Those are the ones that notify me, anyway.

Adaptive cruise control with lane management FTW.

if and when we get an EMP launch, i will worry about my electronics being worthless, until then, i like technology. you used to have a cell phone, so how can you say you don't believe in them ?
After I shut mine down I have actually have less stress I do not have to worry about pocket dialing on wrong numbers, Also only had it because I had to where I worked the boss would text and you had to use it to call for parts.

I can't imagine life w/o a mobile phone. I try. I'd like to disconnect soemwhat.

But would I have to watch TV to get the weather?

use the phonebook to look a number?

Call a place and ask for directions?

Write directions down before a trip?

remember phone numbers?

I have a love/hate relationship with mine. It's useful when I need it but sometimes the damn thing just wont stop ringing.
That is easy turn it off I will actually turn off my tv, computer and phone at dinner time if it is important they will call back .

I could do with out a cell phone.... until I got a smart phone.
Just like today with out this phone, I wouldn't have been able to contact my roommate to tell him to call his dad. He's in Cali and his phone wasn't on. Had some serious unfortunate news. I contacted his coordinator, from a number I had in an email, who contacted someone who contacted someone and he got the word to call his dad. Can't access my email at work and no one had anyways of contacting him til I realized I still had that email with a number.

To not have a cell phone is irresponsible, you can't find out any urgent news all day from family And friends.
You end up relying on other people(or works) phones to get by.

Not to mention it makes life a lot easier.

Kinda dumb to say not having a phone makes life easier.

I swore I would never have a cell phone.... then got one about 10 or 12 years ago. Got a black berry to keep up with work e mails. Now I have a smart phone and can't live with out it.

The weather came in extremely handy when I was moving a month ago. With all the rain I was watching the radar and packing and making trips in between showers.

Our turn around time for jobs at work is more than a week faster than say 7-8 years ago before communication was so handy.
