The Bane of My Wifes Existance Build

Worked for a few hours today and got some good stuff done. Feels good to see progress. Maybe I'll have it done before the race:flipoff2:

Things you can't see.

I clearenced the diff on the waggy 44 so the drivers side inner u-bolt fits better. Finished cleaning the axle and painted it satin black. Only thing left to do is set the pinion angle and burn in the perches.

Keep in mind I still have a 2" body lift to take off. So the body will still even lower.

Started working on the bumper/crossmember. Still have tube work and bracing to do.

About a 75-80 degree approch angle.

Right now showing about 9" to fender. I'm hopeing to be about 5 after I slant the hood and get the body lift off.

I'm the best welder ever:)

And the best part of the whole thing, 37" creepys. 23" belly and it may sit a little lower with all the crap on the front of the jeep.

Are those the shackles you are going to use? It looks like the springs are compressed as far as they will go with the front eye hitting the frame.

They should be. Right now they aren't tight, when they are tighted the frame barely touches the spring eyes.

Won't that limit your uptravel to almost nothing? Not to mention be annoying every time the spring hits the frame when you hit a bump. Not tryin to be a smartass about it. I just thought a shackle worked best when it was vertical with the vehicles weight on the springs. That way it can move forward and backward the same amount to allow spring flex in each direction.

The frame will be clearanced to allow the shackle to swing forward as much as it wants. And I've always been of the 45 degree opinion on shackles. Thanks though, I'm always open to constructive critisizum.

ARGH!!! So I set the shackle angle while the rear end was still jacked up in the air. Some how, I've screwed the shackle angle. Its 75 degrees. So, how do I fix this? 2 option I can think of.

1. Longer shackle
2. Move the mount.

EDIT. OK, I'm even dumber:shaking:

I set up the suspension for stock springs, waggys are 2" longer. I need to move my front mount forward 2", Right?

This is my problem.

CJJJJJJJJ!!!! you cut the frame off! Its going to be close now if you move the mount. I'm not sure you will have enough frame left to move it forward enough. IDK maybe, its gonna be close. I'll get those calc. for you today, but it does look like a mount relocation will be the best...

Cut some stuff up:)

New wheel base and ride height. Still have to decide if I'm pulling the body lift.

CJ... I signed up so I could subscribe and watch your rig come together. Did you get the drivetrain where you wanted it, to get that measurement for your drive shaft?

Let me know when you plan to work on it this coming week. I'll try to come over and help (or at least watch and learn) again.

I'm sure I'll be on it again soon, I was gonna work on it today till I dropped an exacto knife on my toe and made a nice gash.

I think everything is gonna fit. Its tight. You coming to tampa?

No Tampa for me. I thought it might work out, but I have some family stuff I have to attend down in SC.

Let me know if you work on the Jeep any this week. I'll be glad to come attempt to help some more.

Still sitting where I left it. My projects allways take 50 times longer than I plan. I may be wheeling next year.

Sold the body to someone on the board. Not sure where it went from there. I realized I'd never finish the project and started over.
