The Dark Side MJ Build

This truck got a new owner a while back.... I know @gmenavalos will do something good with it. I picked up a 72 FJ40, and this couldn't stay.
 
I bought this from Kyle a while back. I will post some pics shortly
 
So far, I have changed out both motor mounts, Fabricated a rear bumper, Raised the front end another 2.5 inches, took one leaf spring out of the rear, cleaned up shocks and changed the boots to lime green, changed the oil with Royal Purple, cut some rust out of the floor boards and welded up some new sheet metal, and painted the front half the truck with bed-liner spray, also bed-liner sprayed the floor boards.

Still need to replace fuel pump, weld the rear of the bed back on, and clean some wires leading to the fuse box, and bed-liner spray the back half of the truck...

Interior done. Also added sway bar links and got shocks installed on rear. Hopefully more to come shortley.

Also, finished under coating the rear of truck... This is it for now. I hope to be welding the rear of the bed back on very soon!

Got the bed done. Still need to change fuel pump and hood up tail lights....

Nice work as always, George! What product are you using for the undercoating and bedliner?
 
Replaced all of the tail light bulbs and re-installed them. Still have to repair the wiring harness for them but making steady progress

looks like I got a bad fuel sending unit. Any ideas on we're to find one?
 
I found another fuel pump assembly/fuel sending unit on ebay. If is for a 2.8 liter V-6, I have the 2.5 liter 4 cyl. I don't think there are any fuel pump assemblies out there anymore. I have had no luck finding one. I am going to modify it this week and hopefully install it this weekend. I am anxious to get this thing running again.
 
OK, so I began pulling parts off my new fuel pump assemby and putting them on my original assembly. So far, I was able to take the Fuel Sender off the new assembly and swap in to my original one. I just need to find a few more mounts for my fuel pump and I should be ready to re-install.

Almost done with this thing...... Probably be up for sale soon. Wife had a baby and I got a ton of medical bills to pay. Here is a few pics. Turning out pretty nice.
