The Gringo Expedition

Glad to see they let you back in. How was quarantine? Was Juan gentle? Hope so, wouldn't want to catch you walking funny! Stop bye the shop sometime. Good to hear your back safely.

Wow, those are some incredible pictures! Hard to believe how much stuff you can see in just a few weeks!

What happened with the "HELP" signal, just messing around and press the wrong button or?

How'd you talk the Mexican Army into letting you camp on one of their bases?

OK, seriously, I checked out the rest of your pics and yeah, it looks like you had one helluva nice trip. Especially seeing all those temples and pyramids, the beaches and jungles.

Wow. Just wow.

Those were Brit's in Douglas Da Silva Belize. They were working on some dirt roads and a place by the river for another group to do River Ops training of somesort. That place was about 20 miles down a dirt road by the ruins in Caracol. Francis Ford Copala owns a bunch of land there and a resort. We were the only people in that deserted town besides the handful of British soldiers. We hung out with them by a big camp fire, everytime the fire would start to burn down Pete the official fire poker would say "needs a bit more diesel" and poof we would have a roaring fire again. Those guys cracked me up. Wes used the help button on the spot a few times, that was the signal that we needed something looked up on the internet.

Thanks for sharing the pictures, it looks like a helluva trip. Did you ge to fish any while you were on the road? If so what did you catch?

<><Fish

Didn't get to fish much, a little bit off the beach in Nautla Mex, that was one thing I really wanted to do but didn't have the time. We thought we were going to camp on the river in Douglas Da Silva but you couldn't get past the British camp without an escort by the BDF (Belize Defense Force). We were all in snook, bonefish, tarpin, permit territory though. Maybe next time. I guess you could call this a prerun, now we know where the good spots are. I'm sure parts of this trip will happen again.
For anyone thats interested, we met a group of backpackers in Belize at the Trek Stop - www.thetrekstop.com that were on a 17 day 3-4 country tour through this company- www.gapadventures.com.

Yeah good times for sure! And that Allan guy, what a trooper!!

Oh and I would have been running for the Hilton after hearing those Howling Monkeys! Haha!
