thanks fellas, I almost hate to do the 4wd conversion...this thing is damn quick!
I'd actually hate to think what it'd be like w/ a 3.73....I wouldnt be intimidated by a stock fox body.

I have looked at several in the last couple of years. havent seen 1 that clean yet

well we finally made it back from tennssee just now at 3:30 am.. long ride.. but that thing looks great.. i like it.. and i bet it will run on pretty good

thats my buddys old mj , he works at honda with me. that thing is showroom clean.

exactly! Heres the cool thing...My grandfather has been an old school car dealer since he came back from WWII, he started with ramblers, had his own dealership here in statesville called "Stikes rambler". He later started selling jeeps and eventually started "Dixie Jeep" here in Statesville until the late 80's or early 90's they sold to bell and howard chev. Anyway, I grew up around jeeps my whole life, so its kinda cool to have one just like it would have been sitting in his showroom back in the day. I found several old tags from dixie years ago and have been holding them just for a thing like this...

...I put one on my little sisters TJ too. cburgin has owned two old jeeps that my grandfather had sold new. One was his super nice J-10 survivor and the other, his current xj. We found the original bill of sale in the dash of that old J-10 w/ my granddad's signature on it...haha. just kinda cool i guess.

I like it man...and yes, I shoulda kept the j10 and will probly say the same about the xj when its gone!!!

well I have always wanted one ever since I had my 97 xj back in 1997. Plus my grand father drove one for years that my step dad has now. his is a LWB. Really dont plan to make a hard core wheeler out of it, just a mild wheeler/camping vehicle/DD. Something to cruise the parkway or take snowboarding in the winter. Right now, we are going to do the 4x4 conversion. I got a complete 96 xj to rob the AX-15/231 from and HP d30 front. After that I will be trying to find either an XJ 44 or disk 8.8 w/ 4:10's for the rear and poss a rubi front or just re-gear the 30. Once I get some axles I will most likely do a Hell's creek all spring 3" lift and some 31x10.50s. After I get done with school (2 years) I will do a custom 3 or 4 link front and 4-5" coils and SOA rear w/ stock springs, then jump up to some 33x10.50 KM2's or whatever is out at that time. I would really like to go with some AEV wheels right now, or maybe stock rubicons...

Oh I'm sure it was. to my knowledge, they were the only jeep dealer in these parts. The old dealership was down shelton ave. (Hwy 21/115) heading out of town towards mooresville.
