...there is no replacement for displacement, rang true again this afternoon.

I picked up two yards of mulch in my v10 dodge and was heading back home when I came to a stop light and a butt dragging ford ranger with dual exhaust pulled up beside me. The light turns green and he stomps the gas and I see he and his buddy laughing. Well my inner kid takes over and I start grabbing gears and pass him and keep going, i slow down and have to turn off the road and both of the kids flick me off as they keep going straight, I just laughed.

True statement sir. Some people can only "hear" power.

Power is felt.

I don't typically roll coal in my diesel, but I was in the right frame of mind one night going to a family supper. The new section of Hwy 52 in Albemarle at the Hwy 138 light a Jeep Wrangler was in the lane that ends trying to time it right to get ahead of traffic. Light turned green as he got to the car behind me, we both gunned it & I put him in his place...ended up being my brother & sister-in-law!

One of my favorite things to do is a little red light racing. Still get the rush at 31 that I did at 16. Difference now though is, I won't break the speed limit.

Yeah...I only went up to 5 over the speed limit, that's as far as I'll push it!

I agree, i love the 0-45 now instead of the 0-80 (or more) when I was younger

my beater Tacoma 4dr, traffic light outside Clayton, goes from 2 lanes to one, right lane always tries to drag race the merge.

i'm in left lane, big ole JoCo squat Z71 pulls up in right lane, gunning making all sorts a noise.

i'm not sure who was more surprised, me or him, but the 265k mile Tacoma tossed my big ass back in the seat and left Mr Z71 at the light

didn't even spill the Blizzards i was bringin home for wife and kid.

7 years ago I had a hayabusa. It was a 6 speed and would do 93 in first gear. I had road raced sportbikes for years but that Busa was something. It was so hard to be a grown up owning that bike
I rode it to Mexico one summer with a group of buddies. Got it up to 180ish on that long elevated bridge in Louisiana. That was exhilarating to say the least. But I don't miss it.
Now a days I get an earful of nagging from my bride for stoplight racing the civic boys in the family exploder...That's about as exciting as I get these days

Old man! Haha

VW Bugs may not have horse power, but they DO have bottom end torque, that lil boxer engine will pull its ass off for at least 60ft ! if thats the race, you win....

in a 1600b Meyer Manx ( my big ass sitting in it), its an intriguing race from stop light to stop light.

I've surprised a few impatient soccer moms at that light in the Cummins.

I always race whoever is trying to cut up Infront of me when a lane ends or road is going into a construction zone

We have a spot like that near my work going up a nice long hill.

I used to love driving the 08' Maxima and flying by all the traffic, that thing was smooth and fast as hell!

Im talking about the ones that decide at the last min to try and pass 10 cars right when the cones start pushing traffic over. They don't get by me lol

Nothing is sweeter than when that group of 10 cars bands together and blocks the dick cheese from squeezing in.
