That's what it seems like every time I sell an old jeep. Here we go again. I picked this up from @Van-go a little while back. I have it running and driving, but I really want fuel injection again and it could stand a repower. This will be the second YJ that I have built up with a motor swap. I plan to keep this one, but who knows. Currently, it has a carbed 258-T5-231. Plans are
Tbi 350 4 bolt motor
700r4
Flipped Dana 300
Jeep already had an 8.8 and I plan to stay with the 30 up front for now. This needs to be a good driver, so it will stay mild.

When you get done I'll buy it back.
Looking forward to seeing this thing built.
Good luck man.

Not too much for updates. Pulled the intake, valve covers, and oil pan to clean it up. The rest still needs a bath before paint. The donor turned mud truck before it was retired. Had a box of goodies show up from Rockauto. All new tune up stuff. It seems I can't clock the tcase like I want without a clocking ring, which I don't want to do. I'm drawing a new adapter for the 700 to Dana 300 to clock it how I want. That will get CNC'd in a couple weeks when I can fit it in at work.

That tcase setup is different for sure. How's you get the shift rails to come out the back of the case?

If I told you I'd have to kill youo_O I'm considering putting together a kit, so I don't want to explain it straight out. The rails naturally come out of the back. They just need to be re-made longer or extended in some fashion. This case is really easy. This is the only time I have ever taken one apart.

Yeah, I looked at your stuff Matt. I couldn't see much for pics for that reason. Reading yours is probably why I ran cables out the back:beer:
If you need/want pics of anything, i'm sure I still have them all on my hard drive. But looks like you have it figured out nicely already. :bling:

Found some time after work today to start tearing down. My motor mounts came in, so it gave me some motivation. I splurged and bought the M.O.R.E. engine swap mounts. I had a hard time dropping the coin, but for the ease of putting them in, it's worth it at this point. Drivetrain is ready to come out. Maybe that can happen this weekend.

Found a way to rotate and redrill my adapter so I don't have to make a new one. That's a relief and a bummer all at the same time. Ordered a skid from Barnes and it's beefy, for sure. Drivetrain is mocked up. Now, I have to figure out the tranny mount.

Damn, this was way down the list. you guys have been working hard. Had to pull the jeep up from the basement to weld. Gotta run a sub panel to 220 down there. Motor mounts are burnt in.

So I finally had some time to work on the tranny mount. I ordered a crossmember kit from Barnes and a piece of 1.5 Dom. Drug the welder up to my upper garage again. I had a unique situation since I rotated the adapter 90 deg to make the flip with without a clocking ring. I decided to use the mount on the trans and the mount on the adapter together. I had some scrap 1.5" square tube that was up for the task. It might not be the prettiest thing in the world, but it should make the connection really strong. I added a piece of 1/4 plate to the bottom for the trans mount. I also put a piece of 1/4 plate on the frame to have a little thicker place to weld the crossmember mount. I'll have to add pics of it later.
